This week I'll tell you about my trip to Iceland.  It's the perfect vacation for a knitter.  The weather calls for wooly handknits and there's yarn everywhere!

I didn't finish anything over the past couple of weeks but I worked on the Dwelling Cushion and a pair of vanilla socks.  I also cast on a mystery knitalong project, the Miss May Shawl.

May 28, 2022

This week I finished my Curling Mist Socks and I cast on the Dwelling Cushion.  I also have some travel knitting ideas.  On top of that, a goat has invaded my world.

May 16, 2022

This week, I've finished the Goldfish Memory shawl.  Yay!! I've picked the Curling Mist Socks back up and I'm looking for mini skein patterns because I have some on their way to me from Australia.

I also have some quilting plans. Unless I get stuck in the chicken coop...again.

May 4, 2022

This week I finished two projects that I hadn't even started last episode.  One is the Sunflowers Will Rise hat. The other is a test knit from Sally Jane Designs, the Bluebird of Happiness Mitts.

I spent last weekend in Savannah, GA, and went to The Frayed Knot yarn shop. I have lots of new yarn to talk about, obviously.

Apr 22, 2022

This week I still haven't finished anything new but I'm working on several big projects.  I made progress on the Goldfish Memory wrap, the Copper Canyon Cardi and Aileas, the cardigan from Isabell Kraemer.

There's lots going on at the farm. Chickens have moved around and a goat is moving away.  I also planted some peppers and tomatoes.

Apr 15, 2022

This week, I haven't finished anything. I have however, been working on the Goldfish Memory wrap.  I had a problem with my stitch count but I fudged my way through.  I also figured out a problem with the Copper Canyon Cardi. There was a misprint in the pattern.

Our roosters are not playing well with others. It was quite an ordeal to watch them. We are also still making plans for a trip to Iceland.  I hope to have a capsule wardrobe for the trip and keep my packing light. More room for yarn!

Mar 30, 2022

This week, I finished my advent mini/scrap yarn shawl. I used 12 minis plus a main color. I did an icord bind off. I also cast on the Copper Canyon Cardi but had some issues with the instructions.

The farm animals are all doing fine. We have gotten several double yoke eggs lately so there might be a particular hen that tends to lay them. A local mail thief has caused us to spend money on a lockable mailbox--grrr!

I found some washable mop pads for my Swiffer Wet Jet. I'll review them for you.

Finally, we are making plans for a family trip to Iceland in the near future. Any travel tips?

Mar 24, 2022

This week, I finished the Midas Hat.  I'm also still working on my advent mini shawl but it's getting close to the finish line.  I swatched for the Copper Canyon Cardi by Rachel Raimo.

I found a new sock knitting book, The Sock Knitting Bible by Lynne Rowe. Check out my review of it!

Have you tried ordering glasses online?  I have placed an order with Pair.  I'll let you know what I think once my glasses arrive.

Stay until the end for bloopers.

Mar 16, 2022

This week I finished another hat and cast on a new one.  We went camping and I got to do some yarn shopping.  We also had someone steal our mail.

I have two sweater projects in mind, one of them from a new pattern book, Handmade from Traveling Yarn.

Also, there are bloopers at the end.

Mar 9, 2022
This week I finished two hats and have plans for a couple more, including the Midas Hat by Laura Reinbach.  I'm also continuing my scrap yarn triangle shawl.
Feb 25, 2022

This episode I have lots of finished projects-knitting, embroidery and sewing.  I found several interesting MKALs (mystery knit-alongs) and some books that you might like.

I finished the Rose Cottage Cowl, Lambing Mitts (2 pair), Kick in the Pants Socks and even a pair of running pants (sewing).

Nov 30, 2021

This week I was busy with Thanksgiving and didn't get much knitting time but I'm back with Vlogmas plans. I have six (yikes!) advent calendars and four yarn-y projects for December.

Nov 16, 2021

This week, I have a finished-ish hat.  I'm also looking at more advent patterns as well as hat patterns.  There's also a book I want.

Nov 10, 2021

This week I finished two projects and canned a lot of applesauce.  I'm starting to make knitting (and maybe crochet) plans for my advent minis.

The hens are laying lots of eggs and I think the new cat is a Dr. Who fan.

Oct 21, 2021

This week I have six finished objects! And I've pulled two projects from the Basket of Shame. I'm making plans for Vlogmas 2021 and I'm looking forward to all of them! We also have a new addition to the farm.

I also spend a little time talking about the loss of a sweet knitting friend.

Jul 1, 2021

This episode, I have finished a pair of vanilla socks and I'm almost finished with the Curling Mist Shawl.  I have plans to cast on the second shawl from the current season of Helen Stewart's Shawl Society, the Silver River Shawl.

The container garden is doing well.  I'm harvesting 100+ peppers a week!  Also, pepper jam is not fool proof.

Jun 5, 2021

This week, it took two tries to record the episode.  I finished a couple of projects and I can share the test knit I was working on last month.  We spent some time at the lake and I went kayaking for the first time.  We also had a rough week on the farm.

Also, I'm pretty sure I said "microphone" when I meant "microscope".

May 13, 2021

This week, I have lots of finished projects because it's been so long- so very, very long- since I released an episode. I finished my Tea with Jam and Bread pullover, several pairs of socks, three baby hats and several shawls, one of them made from the "world's ugliest color".

There's also farm news.  We have two Pyr puppies, Buster and Keaton.  They are 7 months old and almost 70 pounds each.

Jun 21, 2020

This week, I attempted Tunisian Crochet (Spoiler alert: I liked it).  I also tried a couple of new recipes and my husband and I did some sleuthing and family research.

My Night Shift Shawl is finished and I started a new shawl from an older pattern, the Boneyard Shawl by Stephen West.

May 20, 2020

This week, I finished the Slider Gloves and enjoyed knitting them, like a lot.  Who knew knitting individual fingers could be so addictive?

I also cast on the Luminary Socks by Curious Handmade. I didn't get much done but I'm looking forward to working on them.

There are new bags in the Bede Sisters Etsy shop and I'm a sponsor of the Splash Pad Party KAL with Down Cellar Studio.

May 6, 2020

This week, I have two finished projects including my Vanilla Socks.  I only worked a little on the Nightshift Shawl, but I cast on the Goldfish Memory Shawl and Slider Gloves.

There's a contest thread in the Ravelry group where you can win a copy of the Slider Gloves.  I'll be working on these in the coming weeks and we can chat about the pattern.

Apr 17, 2020

This week I don't have anything finished but I have been working on several things.  I'm almost finished with the Super Secret Test Knit project.  I've also gotten past the heel of the second vanilla sock in One Twisted Tree "Frozen Forest of Dean" yarn.  The Nightshift Shawl is coming along and I cast on Goldfish Memories by Casapinka.

We have a new male goat who is adorable and are hoping to hatch some eggs in our incubator. Also, I waited for 3.5 hours to buy chicken.

Mar 28, 2020

This week, I have two finished projects-Bonbon, a knit toy bunny, and the Milky Oolong Shawl.  I'm very happy with both.

I'm still working on the Night Shift Shawl and a pair of vanilla socks are still on my needles but that's it.  Really, just two WiPs.

I've been working in my herb garden and dried some oregano and sage today.  Also, I miss being with you all at retreats and festivals this spring.

Wish you were here.

Mar 16, 2020

This week, I'm talking about my vanilla socks (there was trouble), my Night Shift shawl progress and how the Milky Oolong Shawl got bigger. I've been doing some gardening and I'm excited about getting my piano tuned.

Let's support each other and if you can, buy from dyers and designers who are facing cancelled events.

Mar 6, 2020

This week I have a new project, the Milky Oolong shawl.  I finished the Kephart Prong Socks and am working on the Night Shift shawl.

The microgreens that I started in my kitchen window are sprouted and ready for eating!  Also, Bentley is feeling much better.
